Once I entered this code I was able to program the keypad and my car remote without issue. Good thing I did! Another customer had the same issue and was told to try code 4, which is for units built prior to 1996 with a green button. Bottom line is I was waiting for a return authorization on the keypad but decided to read more reviews to see if I had missed a solution.
